Simple, on purpose

A treat does not have to mean junk food.

For us, a treat might mean dessert. For a cat, special can still be simple: a clearly named animal ingredient, a smell they care about, and a little ritual that feels like theirs. We do not need added starches, binders, synthetic colors, or flavors to make that moment special.

Cat enjoying a BellePepper treat
What to compare The BellePepper approach Many conventional treats*
What is added
No added starches, binders, synthetic colors, or flavors. Nothing is there just to make the treat behave like a biscuit.
Added starches, binders, flavors, or colors may be used to create crunch, chew, shape, or consistency. Formulas vary.
How it is preserved
Freeze-dried to remove moisture while helping preserve the ingredient's nutritional profile, aroma, and structure.
May be baked, extruded, cooked, air-dried, or otherwise processed depending on the format.
Why it matters
Cats are obligate carnivores. Their biology is built around nutrients from animal tissue, so we keep their treats animal-first and uncomplicated.
Some treats are designed first around flavor, aroma, and texture, even when the ingredient list is less reflective of what cats are biologically built to eat.

Do you know where your cat’s treats come from?

A single ingredient only means something if you know where that ingredient came from. We work with trusted, traceable suppliers and choose proteins with clear sourcing and handling standards. Most of our ingredients come from U.S. farms and fisheries, and our treats are manufactured in the USA. When an ingredient comes from farther away, we tell you.

*Treat formulas vary by brand. Compare the actual ingredient panel, calories, feeding directions, and the needs of your individual cat.

More than a treat

A little treat. A lot of possibility.

A small moment. A big occasion.

Use it for bonding, enrichment, or training. Yes, your cat can absolutely learn tricks.

Explore treats & toppers

Treats are a complement to a balanced and complete diet, not a replacement. Veterinary nutrition guidance recommends keeping treats to no more than 10% of your cat’s daily calories.

Cat enjoying treat time
Animal first

Protein, right where you expect it.

Meat, organs, and fish naturally provide animal protein and amino acids. For an obligate carnivore, that is a sensible place for a treat to begin.

Nothing extra to hide

The animal ingredient does the work.

With a single-ingredient treat, there is no need for added starches, binders, synthetic colors, or flavors. The ingredient list stays short because the food itself is the point.

Gentle preservation

Remove the moisture. Keep the character.

Freeze-drying uses low temperatures and vacuum to remove moisture while helping preserve the ingredient's nutritional profile, flavor, aroma, and structure. It is a preservation step rather than a baking or extrusion step.

Picky-cat currency

The smell matters.

Freeze-drying helps keep the ingredient's natural aroma and flavor front and center. For a cat, that sensory payoff can make a very simple treat feel like a very big deal.

Your bowl, your rules

Whole, broken, crumbled, topped.

Serve it as a reward or use it as a topper on kibble, wet, fresh, or raw food. One treat can fit into a lot of routines without becoming a feeding philosophy.

Supervise treat time, especially with larger pieces or new textures.
Why freeze-dried for cats?

Cats don’t need a treat engineered to taste like meat when the treat can simply be meat. Freeze-drying removes moisture while keeping the ingredient recognizable, flavorful, and naturally nutrient-rich.

The BellePepper point of view

Not tiny humans.
Extraordinary cats.

Cats are carnivores. Our treats start there.

Cats aren’t tiny humans or tiny dogs. Their nutritional needs are uniquely feline, with animal protein and nutrients from animal tissue playing a central role.

01

What it means

Feline nutrition depends on nutrients that come from animal tissues. Their biology is not a scaled-down version of ours.

02

What it does not mean

It does not mean every cat family must follow the same feeding style. A complete diet can come in different formats.

03

Where treats fit

Treats are extras, not complete meals. We simply think the extra can still begin with ingredients that make sense for a cat.

The "picky"-cat transition guide

New treat. Same suspicious little face.

Cats don’t always rush into something new. New smells and textures can trigger a very feline “let me investigate this first.” Give them time, repeat the introduction, and let curiosity take over.

  1. Day 1-201

    Let them meet it

Offer a tiny piece or crumble separately. Let them sniff, inspect, taste, or walk away. No pressure.

  2. Day 3-402

    Make it familiar

Offer a little again during a familiar treat ritual, or crumble a small amount over their usual food if that works for your cat.

  3. Day 5+03

    Find their version

If they are interested and tolerating it well, serve according to the pouch. Whole, broken, or crumbled: let their preference lead.

Go at cat speed

Some cats need longer, and that is fine. This guide is for introducing a new treat, not transitioning your cat's complete diet. For allergies, medical conditions, or prescription diets, ask your veterinarian before adding treats.

For curious cat people

Know their nature. Love them better.

Know what is in the pouch.

Clear answers belong here, not hidden in the fine print.

What is in a BellePepper Cats pouch?

Ingredients vary by product. Some products are single ingredient. Others use a short list of clearly named animal ingredients. Check the product page and pouch for the exact ingredient list, package size, and product information.

Can I use the treats as toppers?

Many of our treats can be served as a treat or crumbled over a meal. Follow the individual product directions and account for treats as part of your cat's daily intake. Treats do not replace a complete diet.

Where should I start with a particular cat?

Start with a protein your cat already enjoys, then review the product details. Introduce new treats gradually. For a cat with allergies, a medical condition, or a prescribed diet, ask your veterinarian before changing their treats.

Where can I check shipping and returns?

Read our shipping and refund policies for current details. Product availability is shown on each product page, and the checkout shows the shipping options for your address.
